Who are 'we'? Reimagining alterity and affinity in anthropology

Who do ‘we’ anthropologists think we are? And how does our sense of being part of larger collectives – disciplinary, professional, regional, and so on – shape our understandings of sameness and difference, self and other, intimacy and distance? This workshop interrogates such questions by interrogating how ‘we’ are imagined and invoked in anthropological writing, theory and practice.

A limited number of extra places for (non-presenting) participants are now available; papers will be circulated in advance.

Registration closes on 20 August 2014.
